Hey, I didn't get the chance to reject
Santa as a fraud. When I was 9 my dad
Took me shopping to Big V at X-mas
He bought the sweetest air hockey table,
And I glared at it in its cardboard box.
When I asked him what that was for he said
"It is from Santa Claus to your brother."
I tell you I've had many moments in
My life of utter disappointment and
Disillusionment, but nothing matches
The feelings of emptiness, rejection
And fear that I felt on that ride home one
Snowy December afternoon in my
Dad's fifty three Ford Power King pickup.
