Ashamed or "Punk ass Kids"

Image
Punk ass kids , originally uploaded by Theorris . I posted this photo over on flickr because I was quite amused by the antics, but after talking to my friend Tif and then reading what Dr. Write has to say about commonplace violence, was quite shamed by my actions: The bored, little, teenage wannabe baller punks* up the street have taken to throwing apples at cars. My house is across the street from their vantage point and, consequently, their spent ammo ends up in my yard. I shouted at them last night with a classic Hank Hill line: "Are you going to stop doing that, or am I going to have to come over there and kick your ass." Aside from a little back talk from them, they quickly dispersed, especially when I charged from the porch to the sidewalk. Great fun. It is not to hard to track down who the kids are, given that the neighbor up the street has an apple tree in his back yard next to their basketball hoop where these dipshits practice their mad ball skillz. The oddity of the Internets

Why in the hell would this comment Hello, I learned that you produced Nightmare Theater in SLC and I grew up in Tooele. I remember watching it with my folks I was about 3 and I would like to know how the starting was. I would like to be able to view the opening again to find out why it scared me so much as a child. If you could please help me I would appriciate it. Please e-mail me at jneenersmile@yahoo.com Thanks Again Janeen be found on this post over at The Eye of Orris Found on stage at the Depot in Salt Lake City after their show, March 31, 2007. What school of thought is teaching that I had some secret career as an infant producing bad local TV? Will the real Fireman Frank (he hosted both the Fireman Frank* kid show and the late-at-night Nightmare Theater*) be haunting this blog soon as other former SLC ...

Bwooop!

The trio vs. the pirate-ladyman Recently lis opined that no native Utard remembers Lighthouse 20, the kid show that was broadcast on UHF channel 20. Now I have a slight dispute with lis, in that I remember the pirate on the show was played by a woman, and she recalls someone very different (a man, I presume). Now Lighthouse 20 was not by any means my favorite show (hell I think it replaced Gillagan's Island!), but I do remember it--not really fondly but I remember it. The real purpose of my writing is that I made the comparison of Lighthouse 20 to Hotel Balderdash--a show that apparently ran for 10 years on channel four here in SLC. Now this show was the bomb; not only did it start at 6:00 am 6:45 am and show nothing but 30's-late 40's Warner Brothers cartoons (you know, Bugs and Daffy, but not Porky Pig and certainly not that crap WB churned out from the 50s onward.) These cartoons, of course, were made for adults and the humor was mostly sophisticated in a slapstick kind...
