The 2008 Macbethy Awards for the Best Music I Purchased this Year

There are 3 categories to my awards this year: Fine, Great, and Best. Why? I couldn't be assed to think of anything else.

And the winners are

Fine, but I don't get the hype from Pitchfork division: Fleet Foxes, Fleet Foxes
Fine, with some great tracks, but overall lacking something division: The Dandy Warhols, Earth to Dandy Warhols
Great, new Canadian find division: Plants and Animals, Parc Avenue.
Great, old Canadian find that gets better on each listen but everyone but Win Butler and I seem to really hate division: Wolf Parade, At Zoomer Mountain
Best, Beck division: Beck, Modern Guilt
Best, forgot that I had it, and recently rediscovered it division: Cloud Cult, Feel Good Ghosts

All award recipients will receive one free dagger hallucination and a bar of soap.

2008 Most Listened to Band Awards recap

See the thing about LIVE blogging is that in order to relive a live experience, you have to scroll all the way to the bottom.

Oh well.

I have more later about the bands that I actually think should be honored this year, and not just listened to incessantly by me.

What? Wilco?

I blame the incessant listening to Wilco in the Summer due to their concert at
Red Butte Gardens.

With 379 listens, they beat out beck by just about 80. If Beck had showed up,
however, there would have been no contest.

Same goest for The Flaming Lips.

Ok, we're back, and the anticipation of who is Theorris's most listened to band of the year is rolling over the crowd.

We've already had many top contenders taken out. Who will it be?
