  1. I think I might disagree with some of those.

  2. Well, Cordelia, Cosimo d'Medici might not be as underrated as I thought.

  3. Luckily, your list is very long, or I would, as is my wont, take it personally. Still, very stimulating. I may have to make a running list myself.

    Phil Jackson/nearly any other coach

(that might be the #1 entry on my overrated/underrated list)

  4. It is interesting that this list is being perceived as some sort of dichotomy. Overrated does not mean it is the worst in my opinion. Underrated does not mean it is the best, either.

They are what they are: overly rated or underly rated.

  5. trust me, that coffee shop in the aves isn't so great (ok, it is, but you should stay away anyway because there isn't room there for the both of us)

  7. I'm not sure if a standard saying in the Army should be categorized as a distillation of philosophy. By the way, I'm not much of a Jazz fan, but I wouldn't claim AK47 as overrated. That honky does so many things that don't show up on the stat sheet. It's hard to clearly see, I know, it's because you're a Jazz fan. Conversely, I'm a Suns fan, so I know what I'm talking about. That's kindof a joke.

  8. Even with a few disagreements (dogs/fish--I'm with you on overrated doges, but underrated fish???), this is a great list. As you say overrated doesn't mean, for example, dogs are bad, they're just overrated. Several hit me as right on: Post-structuralism
/Existentialism (made me want to pull out Camus); Reagan/Carter; round-up/manure.

  9. Well technically, Swamp, it should be "Be all that you can be." The Army co-opted the Existentialist mantra.

My secret word verification is magwax. Now that is super cool.

  10. CI: Fish are totally underrated. They make great pets and are nice to cuddle up next to on a hot night.
