trackingtransience.net

Fascinating: trackingtransience.net. The artist, Hasan Elahi was detained by the FBI after 9/11 under suspicion of being a terrorist. He was turned in by someone unknown. He eventually cleared his name, but felt compelled to always tell the FBI where he was particularly when traveling so that he would not be mistakenly detained again. Tracking Transience is an art piece that grew out of his experience.

  1. That is pretty cool. I read a bit about it; he says it's an experiment in "utter transparency." Fascinating how his work turns the whole privacy debate on its head. It seems he isn't too far away but I'm geographically challenged and couldn't place his location exactly without state lines. I see he has an installation at Sundance.

  2. He seems to be staying in a hotel in Murray, actually. Right now it looks like he is somewhere in Fort Union.
