Yeah! I love S & G. It goes "Kathy I'm lost" I said, though I knew she was sleeping. "I've got some real estate here in my bag. It took me ten hours to hitchhike from Saginaw... whatever. I'm honored.
"'Kathy,' I said as we boarded a Greyhound in Pittsburgh. Michigan seems like a dream to me now. It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw. I've gone to look for America."
Then the bus stuff happens and the bow tie.
I was actually thinking of this line:
"'Kathy, I'm lost,' I said, though I know she was sleeping. I'm empty and aching and I don't know why."
Line lost:
"And the moon rose over an open field."
This is the best 3 minutes of the American experience I've ever heard.
Maybe some Jon Spencer. But come on. We've all gone to look for America.
Toss me a cigarette, I think there is one in my raincoat.
